Janna Phillips Art

by Janna Phillips

Janna Phillips is a multidisciplinary artist who creates in ink, paint, and clay. She has her BA in Art Education and Painting & Drawing from Anderson University and a MA in Art Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design. Janna has exhibited her work in shows across the country including but not limited to: Brooklyn, NY, Greenville, SC, and Tuscaloosa, AL. She has been awarded at multiple juried shows for her excellence in painting.

Janna lives in Crestwood North, Birmingham, AL and works out of her detached art studio.

Janna strives to create, imagine, and impact. Across all mediums, her approach to art is very detailed and naturalistic. She creates oil paintings inspired by the world around her. In contrast to her paintings, she creates functional pottery using white stoneware and porcelain clay. Art is very therapeutic for Janna. It is a way for her to express, question, and reflect on life and her surroundings.

Handmade Art Show Homewood

Handmade Art Show started in 1994 in a private home with just a handful of artists. It now showcases about 60 local artists.

Handmade is different from many other art shows because of it’s intimate size, featuring only local artists and is held in a neighborhood park.

Many Homewood residents walk to the show and consider Handmade their neighborhood art show.
